For example if you have a psychological thriller that almost interacts with the audience and requires them to think you would aim this more at adults because they'd be more intrested in thinking along with the movie rather then teenagers or young adults. On the other hand if you have a movie which just requires somone to watch it; the answers will slowly be revealed as the movie goes on then you would aim the key signifiers that determine what target audiences will watch the movie at teenagers or young adults.
