Research (Planning)

Whilst planning for our pitch, we decided to write out a few quick questions and hand them out to 5 boys and 5 girls randomly within the class in order to find out what types of genres...etc they would prefer in a thriller movie.

Here is an example of our questionnaire:

RESULTS:
For the first question, 5 respondents said they would like a Psychological Sub Genre, 2 people said they would like to see an Action Sub genre. 1 person said horror and the other said comedy.

For our second question, there were a mix of answers, however after researching the movies we found out that they were either Horror or Psychological.

Most people preferred a Discrete or Narrative film opening.

The key elements they mostly wanted to see which mentally unstable people, violence and scary music.

And finally the most attractive type of advertisement was Billboards or Trailers.

To conclude, we have taken all the respondents responses into account and we will be doing a Psychological thriller with Discrete opening. We will also add all the elements that they had wanted. Additionally, we have decided that our targeted audience will be young adults aged 25 or below because the theme of our plot will engage people aged 25 or below because the younger generation go to the cinema for entertainment purposes so therefore, they don't prefer thinking a lot. A discrete title opening will appeal to our target audience because its visual and an element of mystery and suspense which will attract my target audience to watch more.
