For my opening title sequence, we have decided to take the approach of a discrete title sequence. Some common elements of a discrete title sequence consist of fast-paced editing, jump cuts, non-diegetic sound and sound that hints the genre. It's not always clear what the genre of the film is. There is usually moments where there is the time is manipulated (fast and slow). Occasionally, discrete title sequences show overlapping and layered images where the opacity has been altered.A few examples of discrete title sequences are Se7en, Enemy of the State and Arlington Road.
